Hansen Landscape Contractor

I've done a couple of projects with Hansen. They provided guidance, design support, irrigation, electrical installation, deck building and a beautiful little waterfall next to a backyard swing over the course of several year. My backyard especially is my oasis now - it has grown and matured beautifully, and my dog and I sit in the swing, listen to the water and chill. Oh - and watch the birds - Steve Hansen got me started on bird feeders too!

Hansen's has done two projects for us: our backyard several years ago, and most recently our front yard. We get so many compliments from neighbors and passersby on the design and quality of the work! We live on a funky, narrow street in a neighborhood from the 1940's, and the project manager/designer was able to tailor a solution to our idiosyncratic hillside lot that preserved parking while maximizing the remaining outdoor space.

During the first project we received regular communication from the project manager regarding what work was upcoming and what equipment would be on-site, allowing us to relay this info to our neighbors to keep the peace. The second project took place during the pandemic and there were noticeable differences in the timeliness of the work and the communication about it, but both the owner and project manager were very forthright about the causes of each delay and clear about what they were doing to mitigate it, when asked.

The Hansen's staff is very friendly both to us and to our neighbors. They are always willing to move a truck or equipment that is restricting someone's access, and they talked to our 5-year-old for hours and answered his thousands of questions about what they were doing and why. All told we would use them again in a heartbeat because they've helped us create beautiful outdoor living spaces that will enable our family to make memories for years to come.

We had our front yard redone to save water. The whole process was pleasant, collaborative, and professional. The end result is fantastic. The only problem was saying goodbye to the beautiful work Hansen did for us 10 years ago. Thank you Hansen Landscape!

I contracted with Hansen Landscaping to complete remove everything in my backyard and redo it. They came up with a beautiful plan and the installers were wonderful and responded to every question or concern I had. They are wonderful to work with and I would use them again in a heart beat.

These days it's all too easy to spend your hard earned money somewhere/ on something, then months, (or even years), later, a problem arises and it's like pulling teeth to get ahold of anyone from Customer Service. Hansen's is NOT like those Big Business companies. Hansen's is, and has always been, the A+++ quality that you rarely find anymore, with the mom & pop -personal- customer service that you wish every business had. It's like that.

We contacted Steve Hansen late last year regarding relandscaping the front yard. He asked us to visit his property with many displayed landscaped ideas. He asked many questions to make sure we are agreeing on the perfect plan. Steve drew up the plans and said it would be best to start March of this year. We were contacted by Jack with a great ideas of trees, plants and lighting.

He gave us a start date and his crew showed up on time and started tearing everything out. In 4 days we have a new yard. This crew works long and hard and left the area clean. They were professional, neat, polite and answered every question to our satisfaction. I highly recommend Hansen Landscape. You won't be sorry. They are the best.

As a customer of both their Landscaping and Garden Services for many years (a happy one at that) I can no longer recommend them. I just received an email that they are terminating the Gardening Service effective immediately. This was done with NO advanced notice for either the customers or their employees. Not giving us any advanced warning to make other timely arrangements shows a lack of caring for both their customers and staff. Given this I will no longer be recommending this company and I will be giving my future business to a company with a little more compassion.

We had a wonderful experience with Hansen Landscape on a recent project in Livermore to remove an area of turf in our backyard and replace it with a sitting area. In addition we had two trees planted. The sitting area including adding gravel in place of the turf, installing semi circle hardscape wall benches, adding moss rock, adding hanging lights and reconnecting a fountain.

What was once a little used space is now is our oasis. We love it! Their team was very professional, friendly, knowledgeable and finished on time on on budget. I observed VERY careful construction of the rock walls and appreciated the attention to detail. Highly recommend. You get what you pay for.

We are beyond thrilled with how our project turned out and how easy it was to work with them. From visiting the showroom, to discussing what we are looking to do and finally designing and installing. Paul worked with us to get us a design that we would love and fit within our budget. As they started the project we decided to take a leap and do some of the add ons features and they had no problem taking on the new direction

Hansen Landscape Contractor did an absolutely phenomenal job on our yards, which were mostly just dirt previously. I worked with Louis Siegel to finalize the design and materials. He was honest, straight-forward, and knowledgeable. The crew was skilled, professional, courteous, and clean. Their show garden was very helpful for seeing different materials and options.

While there was a long lead time for getting the work started, once they got going, it was less than 2 weeks. Now we have a water-wise landscape with drip irrigation and are so happy to go outside, especially at night with the amazing lighting. We didn't have many choices for landscaping contractors. I had 4 contractors visit, but only Hansen actually provided a quote. While I was worried about the lack of choice initially, we are really to have gone with Hansen.

Hansen Landscape transformed our dirt plots and plain landscaping throughout our yard into a resort looking paradise! Our initial visit was professional and seeing the grounds helped my husband and I get a better idea of our ultimate goal. Paul was magnificent throughout the whole process and his ideas and talent was exactly what we were hoping for! Wonderful, friendly, and helpful workers! Will keep them on speed dial for any other landscaping projects in the future!

Hansen landscape is fabulous. They are so fine tuned, and so professional. The quality of their work is the very best, and It's also very nice to know that so many of the employees have been there for years, and speak so very highly of Steve, the owner. Excellent company.

I've been using Hansen Landscape and their sister company, My Gardener for quite a few years. When the pandemic hit, they made sure their employee's safety was a priority and even kept paying their employees when they were temporarily shut down due to the SIP orders. They recently completed an install job for me in our backyard and added sod, a border, and fresh tanbark. Getting a quote was easy, the quote pricing was fair, and the crew are all friendly and did a wonderful job.

After the grass was installed, the crew leader walked me through the initial care recommendations and even set-up my sprinkler timers for me. It is clear the management of Hansen treats their employees well and the employees enjoy their jobs. They were all a pleasure to work with and the result is exactly what I had envisioned. I recommend Hansen Landscape and their sister company, My Gardener, for all of your landscaping and regular yard servicing needs.

When we wanted to plan our renovated backyard we visited Hansen and had a great experience. What we wanted and why emerged as we talked through likes and dislikes, bonded over our dogs and how we loved to sit outside with them, and looked at options. A few months later, our vision was realized and today our afternoons and evenings on a swing in a vine pergola next to a waterfall make the hottest summer days delightful. We were selling our home and our front yard landscaping was damaged due to lateral sewer work. I contacted Hansen's to see if they could fix the yard before the house was open for prospective buyers. I was more than amazed that Hansen's provided a "refresher" service. They made the front yard look beautiful. I also had them plant new landscaping in the rear yard planters.

They also removed all the ivy from our rear yard. The house and yard looked great. I have always found Hansen; Landscaping staff to be friendly, courteous and always willing to do that extra thing to make the yard look great. I was especially impressed with Jack Hansen the owner who took the time to call me directly to discuss details on our yard. Hansen Landscaping clearly are Diamond Certified.

We haven't had a great experience with contractors and was a little apprehensive about hiring someone to do our backyard and side yard. We heard about Hansen through another contractor who said they were good, but not the cheapest. He said we should get the design from them and bid it out. We worked with Steve to see the showroom and had Louis complete our design.

We wanted to demo a lot of overgrown bushes and some trees in our very large side yard and relevel our backyard with new grass. Louis was very attentive to our request and did a great design. When the estimate for the work came back, it was more than our budget, so we attempted to bid it out. We did get a cheaper offer, but even in getting the additional bid was night and day. Getting the bid from the cheaper contractor was like pulling teeth and felt like a tell tale sign of what we would be sacrificing to save a little money. Louis was extremely responsive and willing to negotiate.

We eventually came within a few thousand dollars of the cheaper offer and decided that it was worth it if Louis could deliver the same level of service he had during the design and negotiation process. We are pleased to report he made the extra money worth it with the level of service and responsiveness he provided. He made sure to touch up paint, mend our fence, and sweep the yard of dust after the job was done. We would highly recommend Hansen and Louis if they want a job done right and with little headaches

We had a wonderful experience working with Hansen and team. They helped fix our mostly dead and weedy lawns and tidied up our landscape as we prepared to sell our house. They did a great job communicating and helped us manage our costs. 100% recommended!

Hansen Landscape just completed a front yard makeover for us and we are very happy with the finished product. The quality of their work and level of professionalism. Louis was the overall project designer and lead. He was responsive and available throughout the design and construction phase. We made a few adjustments during the construction phase and they accommodated them with ease.

We did our due diligence and got three bids from licensed/bonded contractors. Hansen's wasn't the lowest but Steve the owner gave us the highest level of confidence and established trust from the very beginning. If you are looking for a low ball bid with no price integrity then Hansen's is not the company for you. However, if trust, honestly, price integrity, quality and reliability are important then we would definitely recommend Hansen's. We are looking forward to working with them on phase 2/backyard next year.

It took us 6 years to finally call a landscape architect to design our sloping hill. We had no idea of the design, cost, materials, with the exception of we wanted fruit trees and a vegetable garden. Needless to say, we were clueless. I wanted to use a local company, and only heard great things about Hansen. They also recently completed the front yard of a neighbor, which helped speed up our decision.

I could not be happier with the results! They worked with our budget and gave options to lower the cost. Steve checked in once a week to ensure we were satisfied with the work. Louis was always available. The landscapers worked really hard, on-time, and cleaned up everyday. Thanks Hansen for making our back-yard a gem!

My wife's colleague referred us to Hansen when we were thinking of redoing our backyard. Our primary contract manager was Louis. When we went in we had a certain idea that we wanted to do to our yard, after Louis heard us out he suggested a few different ideas that we had not initially thought off, like a fire pit and a counter for our outside deck.

Once he drew the design and showed it to us we absolutely loved it! He was also very adaptable to fit the project into our budget without sacrificing on quality of materials or on the design. The project took about 2 - 3 months to finish a complete redesign of our backyard which included bark area for a play structure, trees, bushes and irrigation, redo of our deck and installing a bar counter, installing a concrete fire pit and putting in a new fence.

The finished product is amazing! We have had numerous parties at our house and we only hear complements about the yard! The space fits perfectly for our kids who love playing in the yard now. It's completely transformed! If you want a beautiful design, honest, ethical and hardworking contractors and a end product that you will love, you have to go with them. We will be a customer for life!
