I went outside with Pat just now and we are still taking it all in. It is beautiful. Our neighbor from on high (who we never spoke to before) actually walked out, and looked over to say it is beautiful. Thanks for making our house a home and for giving us the garden of our dreams. There are a few things in life that are critical to find and hard to get-a good doctor, a good tailor and a good landscaper.

Critical: Professionalism The driver this morning was not professional. They were swerving in and out of lanes without using turn signals. Additionally, the license plate was not fully identified. However, my partner was able to get a good photo. How you conduct yourself on your way to business shows potential clients that this is not for you. Best wishes.

I'm an association manager, and deal with many different companies. Professional Grounds, specifically Jason Cave, has always been consistent. They are responsive, do great work, and all around great people. Any time I've had any type of an issue, Jason has been quick to resolve it. If it can't be resolved right away, Jason does a great job at keeping me updated and never makes me feel like I'm on the back burger. My Board is happy, therefore I am too. I wish every person I came into contact with was like Jason, he truly makes my job easier.

I really love this company, especially when it snows! The crew is really responsive and does the best that they can to help. This is really important to our HOA because we have steep hills that get really icy in snow storms. Erik and the team really work hard and do the best they can do to keep our streets clean. During the summer the crew is just as good, and I wouldn't trade them for the world!

ProGrounds has been handling all our landscaping maintenance and snow removal for the last 3 years. Our neighborhood (Whittier Park in Falls Church) has 75 homes. Customer service and communication is excellent. Difficult to find these days. I've had one contact, Erik, ever since we switched to them. Also, I see there's a 1 star review posted recently complaining about certain things not being done in their neighborhood.
I think that is an unfair review and should be ignored. As HOA president, I've had residents complain about certain things not being taken care of. It's not because of negligence on ProGrounds' part, it's because we, as an HOA, had not contracted them to do that specific work, or hadn't asked them to do the work yet. Whenever we need something beyond our standard contract, a quick call/text/email to Erik with details gets the job done. Definitely recommend. --chris

I have used Progrounds for numerous properties I manage. Working in the property management industry for over 5 years, developing relationships with over 10+ landscaping companies, I can attest this one of, if not the best, landscaping company that I have worked with. Jason has gone above and beyond for me with any issues that I have needed with immediate response time. I recommend progrounds to all of my boards that I have worked with when the go out to bid for landscaping companies. I highly recommend.

I'm a Community Manager for HOA and Condo Associations. I brought Professional Grounds onto a 4th property this year, they do an exceptional job taking care of the grounds and their tree work is top notch. My account manager, Jason Cave, is the most reliable contractor I know. His response and turnaround times can't be beat. I can always count on Jason to make things happen. I would recommend Professional Grounds to anyone.

This family owned company is highly competent and very professional. We were provided a project manager to oversee the initial design and a highly skilled team to carry out the work. Our PM came to the site personally to ensure the specs were accurate prior to breaking ground. The team worked efficiently and got the work done in a timely manner all while being respectful of the property and grounds. If you want top quality all around go with PG. You'll be one very happy customer.

PG is an exceptional landscaping company. They are professional, accommodating, and go above and beyond the call of duty to satisfy their customers. They have done extensive additions to our yard, including multiple stacked stone walls, boulders, trees, bushes. The stacked stone walls are especially beautiful. The workers are prompt, pleasant, and take great price in their jobs. PG also created a swale and rock border around our property line that necessitated their coordinating with VDOT.
This added quite a bit of delay and frustration on VDOT's part, but PG stuck with it until everything was approved. Josh is particularly helpful and accommodating. I would highly recommend PG.

Professionals they are not. While doing landscaping at my office complex I observed two of their employees using my motorcycle to hang their rags on and to lean on in the shade. After I confronted them about it, they denied it and moved after I told them to. They have no respect for people's property and I wouldn't recommend them for anything. (EDIT) After posting the review the company contacted me privately and after providing them more information apologized and addressed the situation with their employees. I'm pleased with their response and their desire to quickly rectify the situation.

Our townhouse community has used Professional Grounds for a couple of years and the quality of their lawncare services have steadily declined. So far, they have never shown up within the 7-10 day window. Once they do appear, (and the grass is over 10 inches high in places) they quickly mow and occasionally edge the properties. Weeding, while in our contract, has not been performed to our knowledge. Very disappointing, as they really did start out strong. On a positive note, snow and ice removal has been stellar.

ProGrounds removed our old brick patio, reworked the subsurface, and installed a new techo-block patio, with beautiful edging and a nicely-placed drainage system. Tim Trimmer was great from the start. He was flexible in his time to meet with me and was receptive to my ideas and concerns as we discussed options to solve my drainage/flooding problem.
He was great with follow-up and additional information as well. ProGrounds was competetively priced -- we had 6 different contractors speak to us about different solutions. Tim also provided great options for cutting cost and offered reasonable prices for additional options (without pressing for them in the contract). Pro Grounds was flexible and responsive on scheduling, and they showed up on time and ready to work.
The crew was the right size for our job, and they were both professional and pleasant. We had a few surprises, as is often the case when pulling out old structures prior to installing new ones. The crew was great about finding ways to work around minor issues and Tim came on-site to work through the bigger issues (problems with my home and grounds - not with their workmanship). Tim was low-pressure and more than fair in adjusting costs--he didn't charge extra when I know other contractors would have soaked me.
The workmanship was outstanding - the pride shown by the crew and Tim is reflected in our beautiful new patio. I was really surprised when I came home to find new mulch around the flower beds adjacent to where the crew had worked, and new grass seed and top soil where they had walked back and forth in the yard. I will definitely call Pro Grounds for any future work that I need done on my home, and I have already recommended them to others who have asked me who did the beautiful work on my patio.

If I could take away a few stars, I would. Horrible staff and customer service! The grounds crew employed to maintain the Old Bridge Estates Property in Lake Ridge, VA, completely destroyed our cable line today. Our cable and Internet worked fine yesterday. This morning I was awakened to the sound of their lawn mowers; they were just outside my bedroom which is located at the back of the house. Incidentally, this is also where our backyard and cable line are located, as well.
Neither my husband nor I were able to connect to the internet via our phones. Our computer did not have connectivity, either. Our cable/internet bill had been paid. A quick call to our provider verified that there were no issues on their end. My husband went outside to inspect our property, and this is when he noticed that the cable line had been severed.
The grounds crew was RIGHT THERE! When my husband what could be done about the cable line they severed, the guilty look on the guy's face was the first giveaway of what they'd done. Of course, he was quick to deny it. Next, he attempted to blame the problem on a different landscaping company (which, of course, did NOT have a vehicle parked just outside our residence at the time.) When my husband asked the worker to contact his supervisor, the guy denied having a phone.
A second worker denied knowing the boss' number. What kind of business IS this?! My husband contacted the office next. He spoke with a woman this time; she told him that our cable company would fix the severed line for free. How she could possibly know this with any degree of certainty is beyond me. So, because of the ineptitude of one of their grass-cutters, and the indifference of several employees of this organization, we are without Internet connection.
With SOL testing just around the corner and mandatory homework my children must complete, this is more than just a minor inconvenience. We wouldn't have been as upset as we are had the lawn guy just come immediately and told us what he'd done. I suppose a little accountability and the desire to right a wrong are too much to ask from this organization.
