We have been purchasing from this team for over two years. With out a doubt they have consistently given us the most competitive pricing. I can honestly say we have ordered from them even when the job is over an hr away. This is just because the quality of the sod beats all those in our local market. I've had dozens of dozens of projects bug and small using Floratam and Bahia.
Big Earth has always come through with exceptional turn around a and quality of goods. Matt, I personally want to thank you for helping other small businesses with great pricing and customer service. Thank you from all of us at FRPD " First Response" we will always try to use you guys when we have a need for sod.

I needed some 4x4x16 landscaping stone; for awhile they were totally out of these stones, but once they were back in stock I was able to obtain them from Big Earth for a very reasonable price. Their office and delivery staff were very professional, friendly, and courteous. Highly recommend them to anyone needing landscaping materials.

Quality Palm Fertilizer: I was searching for a better quality Palm fertilizer than a big box store has. Through the internet I found Big Earth Landscape Supply. Since their nearest location was about an hours drive, I contacted Big Earth prior to making the drive to Tampa. Online customer service was outstanding answering my questions and confirming that the location had ample stock of the item I was looking for. Arriving at the store I was greeted right away and shown my options.
Finding exactly what I needed was a breeze after being shown and explained what the difference was between fertilizers. Check out was quick and the bags were delivered to my car and placed into the trunk. Exceptional full service is had to find. I only wish they had a location closer to home, but for now the 2 hour round trip was worth it!

This place is extremely helpful and courteous. Bobby loaded our car in pouring rain and was very conscientious about putting down cardboard and plastic as of course the bags of mulch was wet. The people at the desk were very helpful in figuring out how many bags I would need. I will always be a repeat customer.

Used this company to buy shell for the driveway. We usually get crushed shell but this time Big Earth recommended big shell because it would last longer. They were told it was for a driveway. And they delivered it into our DRIVEWAY. This shell has now popped 4 tires on 4 different cars (1 truck, 1 car, and 2 SUVs). My tire popped in the pouring rain with my 11 month old baby in the car.
I have pictures on the shell in the tire. Big earth has offered free delivery of new purchases, which we might do only to pop their tires as well. We now have to hire someone to steam roll this shell and can not use our driveway until it's crushed. This shell has cost us close to $1000 in damages for tires and now the cost of a steam roller. Thanks.

With all the malls, fashion, purse and jewelry stores closed for KOBE-911, my wife figured it was time to focus on the garden. That entailed picking up a yard of rip rap and 100 bags of chocolate brown mulch at Big Earth.but way cheaper than the alternatives listed above and our yard looks great! -: Big Earth has *everything* for your landscaping needs, efficient service, knowledgeable indoor staff and a huge selection. The yard crew guys are terrific too, and loaded our truck with a smile on our four visits. They deliver, too, but picking up is half the fun.

We ordered river rock, red rock, and fill dirt from Big Earth in March to be delivered to our home. We are re-doing our landscape rock ourselves and it is a time consuming project. With the care we are spending on doing this work, we finally got to the bulk of the river rock. When we went to take the rock off the driveway and shovel it into the wheelbarrow, that's when we saw below the top layer of large rock, the teeny weeny rocks and a heavy concentration of sand.
This was not going to look good in our landscaping so we set to task to separate out the tiny rocks (the size that you would see on a beach) from what we ordered. It took the better part of a day and we got barely a wheelbarrow full of useable rock. We decided that this was more than we bargained for and reached out to Big Earth for relief. The phone call we made was taken right away and we were asked what would be a remedy.
We said that the best case scenario is to have them pick up the mound that we have left and replace it with what we originally paid for - 1 " rock. We were asked to send an email to them with the pictures that show the tiny rocks and sand. The reply email my husband got was not satisfactory. Matt from Big Earth replied. "The gravel runs through a screen and anything smaller than 1.5" will be in the pile.
If you want to bring the rock back we will gladly refund your money but other than that this is normal for how it looks." My husband sent a reply email back that basically stated. "The rock displays inside your store with the different sizes and types of rocks available don't have a bunch of the tiny rocks and sand. The display of the River Rock only had the 1 " or close to this size rocks.
It's not really fair what was delivered as it is not what we ordered and thought we were getting based on the display we saw. In addition, for us to return this rock is out of the question. I have no method of doing that. I would not have ordered it to be delivered if I had a method to transport it so that's a pretty unreasonable option for us. As a show of good customer service, can you deliver a half yard of the river rock to make up for what we received".
He never received a follow up email from Matt. In the end, we will not be purchasing from Big Earth in the future. We've spent thousands of dollars there and will be spending more down the road but we will choose to work with a supplier that delivers on what we order. We definitely feel like the company could care less about the customer and the product they deliver based on what we received- a mish mash of rocks, pebbles, sand & sludge- and the response we received from them when questioned about the product.

I can always find what I need here, mulch pavers, stones, etc. I looked everywhere for cement rings to go around my sprinkler heads. The big stores were always out or what was left were in pieces. I went to Big Earth for paving stones and just happened to get into conversation there and they said they had over a hundred or more.and they did! Their bagged mulch is better priced for the quantity of cubic feet and the color does not fade as fast. Big Earth has become my go to place. Very convenient to get to also.
