John is very thorough with what he does, as the customer we often over simplify things in our heads but if it was that simple we wouldn't need to hire professionals. John has been doing this for so long that sitting down with him was a huge benefit to my home and our landscaping just on its own. We all want what we want but sometimes what we want isn't what is best. John was able to educate me on what I wanted vs the time I have to manage it all AND suggest alternative options I had not considered.
Top notch customer service, attention to detail, and quality of work! I can't recommend McCabes Landscaping enough to those who want a professionally designed and installed yard both back and front.

BEWARE! I would stay away from this company. If you expect quality and a lasting product, McCabe's is not the company to use for any Landscape improvements in my opinion. The pictures attached are what happened less than a year and half of owning/using my outdoor gas firepit. When I reached out to them, I was told they only warrant for a year, and they would charge me to repair "their work".
I had issues from the beginning and had to watch every detail of their work. The cracks in the concrete are less than two years old. Their workers even left trash, cigarette butts in my yard as they worked. My experience was the owner came out, fancy brochure, make you feel they do top quality work, but from my experience, did not get any of that.
I even paid more with them than other quotes I received. I am so disappointed as we spent our hard earned money on what we hoped was going to be beautiful addition to our family backyard for years to come. BEWARE! Please take a look at the photos.

Initial consultation was great and we loved the overall design. Price was higher than other quotes but we felt it was worth it for the knowledge and service. Start date was pushed back over a month with no communication from the business but when they finally started, the crew did a great job and kept the site clean. We noticed after the final 1/3rd payment that the stones they used were incorrect.
After sending an email, we were told, without our approval, that they were unable to source the stone we wanted and picked out something very different. Initial response from the company took no fault so I stopped payment on the check. The next few weeks were filled with inconsistent payment numbers and threats of a lien on the home. This company takes zero pride in customer concerns and will use the contract as a cudgel. If you decide to go with them, sign the contract only with attorney approval, avoid the horrid lighting package and be aware of incompetent project managers.

Update: We have been waiting since September to have dead plants replaced. They keep telling us "next week" then never show up. It has almost been four months that we've had dead plants in our yard that they guaranteed to replace. They expect us to keep the dead plants there, otherwise they wont replace them. This is terrible customer service. I feel as though now that we've already paid they no longer care about honoring their plant replacement commitment.
I know they have the ability to replace these plants considering they were just at our neighbors house doing their yard. Don't trust their plant guarantee! Their yard maintenance crew isn't thorough and they are unable to troubleshoot issues with smart irrigation clocks. I decided I was better off doing the yard myself.

Just had our backyard designed and landscaped by McCabe Landscape Construction. Very happy with their work. They were professional, creative, and polite. They did exactly what they said they would do, and on time and on budget. Loved that they are a local family owned business. I highly recommend this company for all of your landscaping needs!

After searching the Internet for landscape contractors in our area, after some initial phone interviews we narrowed down our search to three different companies for onsite discussions. All three provided some great ideas for our yard, yet completely different visions. We provided the same budget to each, and received proposals at our near our budget from all.
One company thoroughly stood out from the others during the initial proposal process. John and Melissa at McCabe's Landscape Construction did an amazing job of matching our lifestyle with their design ideas. We enjoyed a digital video presentation which showed a walk-thru of what our completed yard would look like. Seeing it in virtual 3D versus a traditional paper blueprint was helpful in making our decision. McCabe's contracting process was simple and we set a date to start work.
Their construction team arrived on time, every day, and worked hard.really hard. We had a week of solid rain, yet the team was able to get the job moving forward as weather permitted. Noe, the team lead was super professional, and we talked every morning prior to the next phase. He was open to small ideas we shared for little tweaks to the layout and made it happen.
I cannot say a negative thing about the entire crew. Rock Stars! Two weeks after starting the work, COVID hit the news and of course everyone was unsure what would happen. The crew took all the necessary precautions to ensure a safe working environment. With extreme heat, torrential rain, and a pandemic in the mix, one would think the job would have taken forever, yet they were still able to finish the job on time, on budget, and exactly what we envisioned the end result. We highly recommend McCabe's Landscape Construction!

We hired McCabe's to design and install our landscaping. They listened carefully to our needs and wants and designed a beautiful space for us. The yard is full of color, and I've never seen so many hummingbirds in our yard. The transformation was completed on time, and the crew was friendly and helpful. I recommend them highly.

We had a vision for a modern re-landscaping of our house. Their design team listened and linked us up with a Pinterest design board where we could share our ideas. Working with their design team we reviewed plans online and could make changes in real time. It was a great tool to help us make smart decisions. Their team leader during construction was a great communicator, listened to us (and he gave great advice too), and was great to work with.
They worked during days of 109 degrees, we hope the popsicles helped them through! The office staff is helpful and has been very responsive. We are delighted with the finished product. Would highly recommend these folks.

Shopper beware, John and the office staff do a great job selling the contract but everything after that is a disappointing struggle. The start date was pushed twice, and asking questions while the work was getting done was akin to pulling teeth. The initial final product looked great and the workers did a great job, but after the office staff got me to sign the contract I did not feel like I was a priory at all.
I have over 5 plants/ bushes that have died and had someone come out over 45 days ago to do a post work inspection. that I had to call for to get set up. Still no one was come out to help with warranty. Mccabes charges as if your going to get the highest quality care but I have been ultimately disappointed. The work gets done but don't expect the company to care after you sign the contract, they push to have you talk to the Forman for all questions and concerns. Pro tip! communicate through email as much as possible! because they "forget" conversations that I had to prove we had, example; the reasons I hired the company. Seriously, I had to justify that we talked about why I hired them because they "didn't remember the conversation and said I should have brought up my concerns earlier" I had to prove that I did. That being said, good luck.

While quality, value & professionalism are important to me, this review specifically gives kudos to McCabe's Landcape Construction for it's responsiveness over the last 1 1/2 years. As a result of McCabe's commitment to address & resolve a few issues, I recently signed up for McCabe's regular maintenance program to keep my patio landscaping in beautiful, tip-top condition. A special "thank you" to Genesis, Chris & Melissa for consistently being RESPONSIVE!

Everyone read all the reviews there is a common factor, John the owner and his office are horrible people and a horrible company. During the process John McCabe yelled at my wife on the phone so loud I heard him in another room! I got on the phone and he continued to yell at me! They tried planting dead trees but we were home so we got to stop it, really!
After that argument, they planted 6 dead plants and refused to replace them. They planted partially dead sod and refused to replace it. We paid for our irrigation manifold to be replaced which was a 4 valve system and they replaced it to a 3 valve system and didn't run the electrical in order for it to work. After arguing with the office staff they added the electrical but not the 4th valve and did not do it properly.
They ran the electrical through the plants and along the top of the soil about 3 inches deep which is dangerous and not proper. In doing this they ran only one drip line to trees and succulents Instead of running a separate drip line, one for the succulents and one for the trees which is why we had a 4 valve manifold system previously. They planted succulent plants right next to drainage without the proper sloping away from the plants which I had to move so that the plants would not saturate and die.
They ran over our front lawn with their trucks and mixed cement on our front lawn, which destroyed areas of our very nice front lawn. We had to argue with the staff and John before they partially replaced a spot where they mixed cement on. John quoted us for a Alumawood patio cover but told us it would only come in all white because Duralum was out of the other colors.
Then when we asked for the patio cover to be 9ft instead of 8ft and they wanted to charge us $200 more for that height. Funny thing is the patio cover comes in 10ft so what are you charging us for? We said no and decided not to have them install the patio cover, which was a blessing! We called Duralum and they had 8 colors to choose from! I called a local installer of Duralum Alumawood patio covers and they could install the Solid Insulated Patio Cover with the colors we wanted for $1500 less! Do not use McCabes for anything!
