Breezy Hill Nursery

BEWARE! The tree we purchased from Breezy Hill two years ago died. They honored their guarantee to replace the tree however I SPECIFICALLY stated their machinery was not allowed on our driveway for the install of the replacement tree since the machinery used for the initial tree install leaked oil all over our concrete driveway. Breezy Hill gave us $75 to get our driveway professionally cleaned after the first incident (which DID NOT cover the cost at all) and I was assured they would only use a small machine to remove the dead tree and install the new tree.

Imagine my shock and disgust when I saw stains all over my driveway AGAIN. The worst stains are where the machine was parked while they planted the tree however oil and gas stains go all the way from the road up our driveway (our driveway is 400 ft). Avoid this place at all costs if you care about your driveway.

Had a new home lot grading, seeding and landscaping. The guy they sent out never got back to me. Wasted my time. I used Aspen Property Care and they did a great job.

The customer service is extremely poor. I was very surprised. The attitude and treatment I received from the field person left me at a loss. I left two messages for the general manager and never received a return call. I did receive a poorly written email from the field person. I wonder how these folks would feel if their family members were treated the same way at an establishment.

My wife and I tried to use their landscaping service for a patio with landscaping quote in September of this year. The gentlemen came out and took measurements but was very short with us when we asked detailed questions such as colors for the concrete and accents we were requesting. We have yet to receive any type of estimate or even courtesy correspondence of some type saying when the estimate would be ready. We finally went with A2 Design Services who meet and exceeded all of our needs.

Do not use this company! They do care if they satisfy the customer. We spent 75,000.00 on our new home's landscaping. Our yard looks terrible. We spent more of our own money on grass seed to try and fill in all the empty spots after all they did was come throw some more seed which did nothing. And it still looks horrible. we paid for them to put rock around our house and they left some empty spots and Brad's answer to that was to take some from another spot and move it over.

So now you can see the landscaping fiber from where he moved it. Really a five gallon bucket of rock to satisfy us was way to much? Brad has been nothing but condescending and argumentative. We just want what we were told we would get and that's not what we got. We had to fight him every step of the way. There is so much more not enough space.

These guys are a bunch of chops. They blocked Wacker Drive for over half an hour. While they laughed at the drivers in the middle of am rush. Bad enough they block traffic but to taunt the traffic shows you their business professionalism

Drove by and saw a sign that said 40% off roses. Went in and walked back to the roses and picked three out and then stood in line. When I finally got to the front - It was very busy the lady said Oh by the way those roses aren't for sale. I said it said 40 % off roses! She said not those. So I got out of line and walked around. Went out to the sign to see if I misread read it and I didn't. Looked around the place and couldn't find a sign in the place that said select roses or only knock out roses. Went back into line and talked to a manager.

I told her I looked around and couldn't find a sign. She said they were around and gave me a big smile. Very rude when I wasted my time when I wouldn't of wasted my time if they would of posted this on their sign. I'm sure other people fell for this as she stated "You know these are not part of the sale " Others must of had the same problem.

Very deceiving and dishonest. What a waste of time and I will never go their again! They lost a lot of customers over 40$. They will say they had all kinds of signs but they didn't. The gigantic sign by the road said 40% off roses. Not select roses and if they say that it did they are lying! They should just admit they were wrong and fix the problem.

They are to busy trying to justify their mistake and not admitting they made a mistake and fixing it. Everything they are doing only proves that if you have a problem with them good luck with them fixing the problem.

Exceeded my expectations! They designed and installed my fire pit and patio with a flagstone walkway, start to finish in days. Great family gathering spot. I gave Breezy Hill the job because they did my landscaping and paver walk 17 years ago and it still looks great.

The manager really works with you and backs the 1 year warranty. They built our deck and we LOVE it. We are hoping to have lighting done next summer.

Breezy Hill recently completed a major landscaping job for my neighbor. They were months behind schedule and seemed to be working from the seats of their pants. During the last year, an immense amount of water, dirt, sand, and rocks were allowed to flow downhill into our lake and into my backyard. We spent hours cleaning the debris from our grass and emptying our boat house so it could dry out.

On several occasions we asked them to be careful when digging around the 100+ year oak tree on the edge of our property. They ignored this request and used a bobcat to dig a large French drain just a few feet from the tree. When my wife inspected the damage to the roots they dumped a load of dirt directly behind her. When I told them to stop immediately they said they were behind schedule which was true but laughable since they were months behind schedule. If you want to wait for months to complete your project and hire a company that shows no regard for your neighbors then Breezy Hill is the team for you.

I would love to give a 5 star glowing review because I love shopping at this nursery however, I am sad to say that although I tried hiring for a landscaping job, after several weeks with still no contract and only excuses that they are now out 8 weeks out because they don't have the labor to do the jobs, I finally gave up. If I request a quote in early April, why would I want to start the job in August at the end of the season? Extremely disappointed. I gave the 2 stars because I really do love the nursery itself, it just needs to get better help to do the work.

A local favorite! Plentiful nursery, friendly staff and a great little store full of goodies. Worth the drive if you are considering it.

I was always impressed with the Breezy Hill property in Salem, so when we saw them at the Home and Garden show we thought we would have them quote on our landscaping. Almost two months passed since the fellow visited our home and still no design. I appreciate wanting to keep a full book of business and being busy in early spring, but waiting almost two months with zero follow-up unless we reach out is really not good customer service.

My husband and I had Mike Schierl design and install a beautiful landscape at our home in 2003. It was so interesting and low maintenance I still enjoy driving past that home. In 2011 we purchased a new home with an overgrown and horrendous landscape. We were so pleased working with Mike at our previous home that we hired him for our new home. He designed a wonderful plan that we implemented over a two year period. The plants and trees are healthy and very high quality. They stand behind their work.

My husband and I are working on getting our house landscaped. We are a new construction home. We now have money to get some landscaping projects done. We did our homework as we are on a budget. We visited Breezy hill several times. We wanted to purchase outcropping step for an area off of our dog run where there is a big drop. Each time we went we got different answers.

We finally spoke with the manager Kathy Seitz. She told us to come in early on a Saturday morning and there would be a person to help us pick and choose which pieces we want on to a pallet. She also wrote down the costs for us. So we did that and paid for it. She was not there that Saturday we picked our stone. The plan was to have our landscaper come to pick up.

When he arrived to pick it up he was told that they did not charge us correctly so he could not take it. We then received a call from Kathy that we were grossly undercharged. She would not honor the prices that she wrote down. She did apologize and offer a discount. However the cost would still have made it 2x what we paid. It is not our fault that the workers there are clueless.

There are signs at the end of each row with the name and costs of whatever type of stone in that row. We asked several times on each visit about this and were assured that the cost was per ton and not per piece. Apparently what we chose was per piece. If the manager writes down the cost and tells you it is per ton would you not believe her? Very frustrating. This is not the first time we have had issues with this company. But it is the last time! Shame on you Breezy Hill!

I called this place in the spring to get a quote for some landscaping. Instead of them calling me back to make an appointment, a secretary called to get my email address. They proceeded to send me an email quote that wasn't even what I was looking for. After calling them back several times, and getting no response, we gave up until recently. We thought that we would give them one more chance, so we called and were told that someone would be in touch with us. Guess what? No call back. If a place is too busy to take on new customers, then they should say that when you call.
