Services
At Shadow Hill Landscape, Inc, we are outdoor people through and through. We grew up in rural New York, and have loved getting our hands dirty since childhood. We believe that human beings were meant to live in concert with nature, and in our experience nature has a ton to offer - from peace and serenity, to health and wellness, to beauty and comfort.
The soothing and peaceful sounds of trickling water don't have to exist only on vacations to beautiful resorts or near natural brooks and streams. You can enjoy the exotic allure of beautiful water elements in your own backyard, even if that backyard is in Monroe, Wayne or Ontario county. Ponds, waterfalls and fountains add interest to an existing landscape and create an atmosphere of relaxation and tranquility that you'll love to retreat to.
Enjoy the convenience of a fully functional kitchen or fireplace as part of your yard and landscape. Once the warmer months start to move into Rochester county, everyone starts to migrate outside. If you've done any entertaining in the past, you know how challenging it can be to entertain outside without the proper outdoor setup.
Walkways and patios are more than just pathways and landing spaces. When done right, they contribute to the overall design and flow of your landscape. By installing walkways in key areas, you ensure that your high traffic areas are protected from wear and tear. These spaces are generally high-use, so they need to be durable and easy to maintain.

We did not have work done but our next door neighbor did. During the process they snagged and damaged our chain link fence with their bobcat. The owner was difficult to work with, fought back and forth about paying for repairs. Kept insisting they didn't do the damage despite witnesses. It wasn't until we had a signed letter and receipt from the fencing company did the owner agree to pay for damage.a whopping $30!

If it were possible to give zero star I would. The owner of the company was contracted to expand our existing 2 year old patio for the spring and didn't get to it until late summer. Yes the weather was a challenge so that I can forgive except for there was zero communication on the matter to keep me updated. During/After the job the following issues arose: * Forklift damaged the cement foundation of the house * Forklift damaged the siding of our house * We had irrigation going in and they laid stone in our beds before this could be put in under the cloth as is best practice.
Weren't willing to rectify the situation and the irrigation company had to move all the stone and get it under the ground cloth. No organization. * They flooded our yard leaving a hose on until it burst eroding the seeding around the patio and the dirt. * Pavers clearly don't match despite assurances they would be close * For the above I was told this would be solved before paying by pressure washing, it was not. Quotes for replacing all the pavers originally given to us for for much larger more expensive ones.
They never gave a quote on the same sized ones until after the fact when I brought up my concern. * I was talked over and not allowed to articulate my concerns over the phone with the owner * Samples for another $2,500 job to replace the pavers to match the new patio were dropped off and were all one color where I couldn't even compare against the pattern that way.
I left this feeling like I had been fleeced and certainly disrespected. Buyer beware the attention to detail and respect for the customer is clearly lacking along with ownership of their workmanship. After an all cash deal (in which the owner Dan Milke hassled me to ensure I didn't report it to the bank for IRS reasons on his part which made me feel uncomfortable) I would expect much better.

I called Shadow Hill Landscape the other day to voice concern after witnessing one of their drivers in a road rage incident. The woman answering the phone said the owner would contact me back - he never did. Be wary about this company - anyone who could knowingly drive like that in a company vehicle is not someone with whom I would care to do business with.

My first visit there today. The nursery area was pretty disappointing. Very weedy, plants, shrubs and trees dead in pots. No interface with any staff. A landscaping company of that scale should be pristine and have employees taking care of the outside appearance. Potential customers want to be able to envision what their yard could look like and nit have to try to ignore the three foot tall weeds.

Emailed requesting a quote. They replied they would stop by when they got a chance and send me a quote. After several weeks I emailed again asking if they had a chance to stop over. Another week went by and now they want to set up an appointment. A reputable business would have set up appointment upon first contact. Apparently they don't want the work.
