Seeding doesn't guarantee grass will grow, can be full of weeds, and requires daily watering. Sod is more expensive than seeding, but it provides an instant lawn that helps prevent weed growth. Fall is a good time to add a sandy loam and apply fertilizer, one that contains some type of wetting agent.

Order 5 yards of topsoil delivered to my house. Driver showed up mid day & expertly dumbed about 3 yards in my backyard & rest on the front driveway. Saved me a ton of effort wheel-barrowing it around to where I needed it. Soil pretty black/rich with organic matter minimal garbage. Shared some with my neighbors & think we may have to get another load!

I felt the need to leave a review because I was apprehensive using this company based off the reviews already online. I had no issues with this company. They were one of the only companies I called that actually answered the phone to schedule a shipment of sod. I got 5 pallets of Bahia grass. I had it delivered on a Friday and installed ourselves on Saturday. 1/5 pallets had ants but it's grass. so. that's not really anyone's fault. Ants live in grass. Prompt service and delivery. My grass looks great 3 weeks later. First picture is delivery, second is after we installed, third is 2 weeks after install.

Do not ever use this company. They came out to clear a lot in front of our house. When they cleared the lot they broke a well and flooded our driveway. After almost 3 weeks of endless phone calls with the owner Mark he told me he was not going to fix it and it wasn't his problem. Another company had to be hired to finally fix the driveway. Meanwhile we can't drive up and down the driveway at all. No emergency vehicles could get down the 1500 ft driveway either. I would not recommend this company for any job.

Just left.wanted 20 pieces of sod. Won't take credit card for any amount less that $100.00. Cash or check. Of course it doesn't say that on the front door. Just has the CC stickers without restrictions.girl working front desk would not make exception.".that's the rule", back to watching her TV. So much for customer service. Off to find an ATM.#$&@$ Real shame the customer service sucks. sod is good and the price is fair.

If only there was an option for negative stars. Unless you own a business and need commercial landscaping work done, you will be completely ignored by the owner of Green Thumb. 6 weeks ago the owner, Mark, came out to give me an estimate on prepping the back of my property for sod. He seemed very knowledgeable and gave a fair estimate. I scheduled the work to be done, and when the day came for them to be there they didn't show up.
I called the office and was able to talk to the receptionist probably 10 times over the past 4 weeks, and every time they say they will have the owner call me right away. I never received a single call from the guy. So now I'm going to rent the equipment and do it myself. If you need a medium to small sized residential job done, go anywhere but Green Thumb.

Sod was pathetic. Nearly every piece was torn or shredded. Very thin with very little soil. Called Green Thumb and was told because of all the rain, the sod companies could not guarantee it and they were advising customers of such. I told them I was not advised and if I had been, I wouldn't have put out $170 for a pallet of bad sod. Was told the owner would call when she got back into town.
Its been over two weeks, haven't heard a word. Advised my go to nursery who was appreciative and would advise their customers in need of sod to stay away from Green Thumb. Be wary of this lot, I believe there are much better sod companies in the area to choose from.
